A major component in your business digital marketing plan should be your presence on social media. Even if you don’t care for your personal Facebook feed, it is imperative that you not overlook this platform staple to spread the word about your business. Facebook can be your key to capturing new business, cultivating customer loyalty, and even improving your SEO results.
However, it can feel frustrating to post good marketing content on Facebook when you only have a few followers to enjoy it. Increasing your followers doesn’t have to be expensive. Here are a few of our favorite tips to get started.
Create original content
Resist sharing photos or posts from other pages. Instead, create your own content that you have branded with your logo or website. That way, when others share your post, you can increase your exposure.
Tag other businesses and people
If you do choose to share an article from another site, be sure to tag the organization. Hopefully, this will get that organization to follow your business page and could foster a new referral partnership. Reposting a happy review from a customer? Be sure to tag their personal account as well.
Reply to comments and questions
You can’t just post images and content to Facebook and go about your day. Spend some time replying to, or liking, comments you receive. This will create a more engaging page and could help your page be noticed on the feeds of friends of your followers.
Create a goal and corresponding contest
Make a goal to hit a certain number of followers – 500, 10,000, or more – and share your goal with your followers. Tell your followers you will give away something special (a gift card, a discount, etc.) when you reach the number. Ask your followers to share your post and watch your follower list increase!
Post regularly
Facebook implements different algorithms throughout the year, and if you are not posting consistently, your content can essentially disappear from your followers’ feeds. To prevent this, be sure you are posting regularly, perhaps 3-5 times per week.
